TOMMY SEARLE SIGNS OFF 250 MX2 CAREER IN STYLE AS HE SCORES 1-1 AT TEUTSCHENTHAL

Huge crowds flocked to see the final round of the 2012 Motocross World Championship at Teutschenthal last weekend, but with both MX1 and MX2 titles being sewn up at Faenza in Italy several weeks ago, the focus was more on the star power of Raptor Titanium sponsored rider Ken Roczen, now riding for KTM Red Bull USA, making his MX1 debut on the KTM 350SX-F machine in front of his home-crowd.

Raptor Titanium sponsored rider Tommy Searle of Floride Pro Circuit Monster Energy Kawasaki checked out his MX2 career in dominant fashion on GP day as he took a commanding 1-1 result to set himself up for next year in the MX1 class.

It was also a fantastic day for the Raptor Titanium sponsored Monster Energy Bike It Cosworth Yamaha team as Zach Osborne got 2nd on the overall podium in his last ever World Championship GP before he moves to the Raptor Titanium sponsored Geico Honda squad next year to race in the US, with Arnaud Tonus taking 3rd overall on the podium behind his team-mate to cement an all-Raptor Titanium sponsored rider MX2 podium to end a great year for us as we now look forward to next year for more great racing!

Ken Roczen did not disappoint on the day either in the MX1 class as he battled with the top guys in the MX1 standings Clement Desalle and Antonio Cairoli to take overall 2nd on the podium. 3rd man in the final championship standings and Raptor Titanium sponsored rider Gautier Paulin finished overall 5th to round off a solid year for him on the green machine.

BLAKE BAGGETT HANGS ON TO WIN 2012 AMA 250 OUTDOOR MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP

A well organized and structured race meeting was the venue at Lake Elsinore for the twelfth and final meet of the 2012 Outdoor AMA series, with all to play for in the 250 class as the Raptor Titanium sponsored Geico Honda riders Eli Tomac and Justin Barcia were within striking distance of Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Blake Baggett for the championship title.

Having already sewn up the title several weeks ago, it was still our sponsored man Ryan Dungey of KTM Red Bull USA taking yet another overall 1-1 result and victory in the 450 class to make the year even better for KTM Red Bull if that were possible.

250 Lites Class

It was Eli Tomac on top in qualifying with a super-speddy 2:36 lap time around the incredibly long Lake Elsinore circuit, with fellow Raptor Titanium sponsored riders Ken Roczen and Marvin Musquin of KTM Red Bull behind in second and third.

Raptor Titanium sponsored rider Eli Tomac

The KTM Red Bull and Raptor Titanium riders Marvin Musquin and Ken Roczen followed up a good qualifying session to take first and second out of the gate, but were soon chased down by Justin Barcia as Roczen went down early on. Tomac fought to get up front to gain points on the championship leader Baggett who in turn was furiously battling with Barcia up at the front. Tomac soon got around Musquin into third and began pressuring Baggett in a thrilling three-way race for the win. Baggett characteristically turned up the heat at the end and stormed to the win to edge closer to the 2012 title with Tomac in 2nd and Barcia 3rd. Musquin kept it upright to take 4th with Geico Honda and Raptor Titanium sponsored man Wil Hahn in 5th.

With many of the main competitors going down or getting bad starts on the first lap of the second moto there was everything to play for, however as long as Baggett finished 13th the title was his. Tomac went down on lap one so it was down to Barcia to try and salvage the championship and with a valiant effort he won the race, but with an absolutely flying Baggett who stormed up from 11th to 2nd in the race, at one point going four seconds a lap faster than Barcia he was never going to be beaten on the day.

Congratulations to Blake Baggett, 2012 250 AMA Outdoor Motocross Champion!

TOTAL DOMINANCE FROM KTM RED BULL FACTORY TEAM AT LIEROP ONCE AGAIN TO ALMOST CERTAINLY CEMENT BOTH TITLES FOR THEM AGAIN IN 2012

The tough sand of Lierop is legendarily unforgiving and is the perfect terrain for KTM Red Bull man-to-beat in the MX2 class Jeff Herlings as he stormed to a 1-1 result in front of his home crowd at the weekend to take himself to 65 points ahead of nearest championship rival, Raptor Titanium sponsored Brit Tommy Searle who took a 4-4 result and dropped badly needed points ending almost all hopes of championship contention for the Brit with two rounds left to go.

In the MX1 class it was once again all about Tony Cairoli who showed his class and obliterated the field with another 1-1 result and yet another overall GP result to add to his growing tally. Whether it be sand or hard-pack it doesn't seem to bother the Italian who just keeps on winning.

Raptor Titanium sponsored rider Gautier Paulin of the Factory Kawasaki Racing Team moved up to 3rd place in the standings after Christophe Pourcel scored two DNF's and slipped down to fourth place, just 6 points ahead of 5th place Ken De Dycker now.

Both Herlings and Cairoli can now sew up the titles at the European GP in Italy next weekend.

DUNGEY KEEPS ON WINNING AT ROUND 11 OF 2012 AMA MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP, WITH FINAL SHOWDOWN IN STORE AS TOMAC SWEEPS BOTH MOTOS TO KEEP BAGGETT WITHIN STRIKING DISTANCE

Track conditions were perfect as the 2012 AMA Motocross Championship rolled into Steel City, Delmont at the weekend. With Raptor Titanium sponsored rider Ryan Dungey of KTM Red Bull USA having already won the 450 Championship the main events were undoubtedly the fiercely competitive 250 Lites Class races which is still very much hanging in the balance with Raptor Titanium sponsored riders Ken Roczen, Eli Tomac and Justin Barcia all in with a chance clinching the title.

250 Lites

The fastest man of the weekend was undoubtedly our sponsored rider Eli Tomac on the CRF250F machine powering to the fastest qualifying lap by almost two seconds quicker than fellow Raptor Titanium sponsored rider, KTM Red Bull USA man Ken Roczen.

In the first race it was championship leader Blake Baggett of the Pro Circuit Kawasaki squad who took the holeshot, but looked to be riding safe and soon surrendered the lead to Justin Barcia. Roczen sat in third but soon relinquished that spot to a rampant Eli Tomac who showed the class he had in qualifying by storming right up to the back wheel of Barcia to make for a spectacular last few laps as the two Geico Honda men battled for the lead, the quicker Tomac edging out his team-mate to take the first moto win. Barcia settled for 2nd ahead of Roczen in 3rd. Baggett seemed content with 4th to keep himself at the top of the points.

The second race saw an utterly dominant performance from Tomac who rounded the first corner behind rookie Jeremy Martin who he soon dispatched with ease and led the entire race from there. Nobody else got a look in as he completed the 1-1 result to take himself second in the overall championship points table, just 14 behind Baggett with one round to go which will set up some compelling racing for next week's season climax at Lake Elsinore.

Overall winner at Steel City - Raptor Titanium sponsored rider Eli Tomac!

450 Motocross Class

It was all about Raptor Titanium sponsored man Mike Alessi of Motoconcepts Suzuki in qualifying as he set a blistering fast lap time ahead of fellow Raptor Titanium sponsored riders Nico Izzi of Star Valli Yamaha second fastest and Josh Grant of Jeff Ward Racing Kawasaki fourth fastest.

Despite a poor qualifying performance Ryan Dungey continued his winning ways, grabbing the holeshot in the first race and not surrendering the lead all race ahead of Andrew Short in 2nd and Mike Alessi in 3rd.

Things weren't as straight forward in the second race for the KTM Red Bull USA man with Mike Alessi getting a much better start, leading almost the entire race with Josh Grant in second. Dungey soon fired into action and tore his way up through the field to eventually close down Alessi and take yet another 1-1 result this year.
