BRITISH GP SPECIAL: DOUBLE WINS FOR TOMMY SEARLE AND WINS FOR RAPTOR TITANIUM SPONSORED RIDERS IN EMX AND 125cc CLASSES

Glorious sunshine beamed throughout the whole weekend at Matterley Basin as Round 13 of the 2012 FIM World MX Championship saw a spectacular festival of motocross thrill and entertan the crowds all weekend and saw some fantastic results from our sponsored riders.

HM Plant KTM UK's James Dunn took an ecstatic win in the second 125cc class race of the weekend before the main event action kicked off, getting one of many British wins for the weekend and certainly rewarding all his hard work this year.

Fellow Raptor Titanium sponsored rider also on a HM Plant KTM UK machine Natalie Kane put in a great performance in the WMX class scoring 3-2 result for the weekend and securing yet another excellent British result.

It was unfortunately a disappointing weekend for our sponsored rider and current red-plate holder in the MX2 class of the British Championship Mel Pocock as he just missed out on a home GP podium as fellow Raptor Titanium sponsored rider Maxime Desprey of the Floride Pro Circuit Monster Energy Kawasaki team took a 1-1 result to take the overall on the day.

MX2

After a dominant display in qualifying it looked as though the Factory KTM Red Bull team were going to prove too strong for their rivals scoring a 1st and 2nd result in the qualifying race, the series points leader and almost certain 2012 MX2 World Champion Jeff Herlings taking the race win. Raptor Titanium sponsored home hero and crowd favourite Tommy Searle of Floride Pro Circuit Monster Energy Kawasaki pushed the Dutchman hard and went down mid-way through the race, managing to battle back up to 6th place place to get a decent gate pick for race day. Raptor Titanium sponsored Bike It Cosworth Monster Energy Yamaha rider Zach Osborne looks to be recovering well from injury as he took 3rd in the qualifying race.

It soon transpired that Tommy's pick of the gate proved his master stroke of the weekend as he stormed both holeshots ahead of the pokey KTM's out of the starting blocks and controlled the racing from there. Herlings pushed him hard all day, remaining on his back wheel through the majority of the races, but found no answer to Searle's prowess in front of the fervent home-crowd as Herlings dropped it late in both races striving for the lead. With a 1-1 result, Tommy won the GP and closed the points gap slightly on Herlings who took a 2-2 result with two rounds left to go.

Zach Osborne replicated his form on qualifying day and took a 4-3 result for a 3rd on the box in front of a supportive British crowd. His team-mate and fellow Raptor Titanium sponsored rider Arnaud Tonus had a solid weekend as well scoring a 6-6 result to take 6th overall.

It was also an excellent weekend for the Raptor Titanium sponsored Rockstar Bud Racing Kawasaki team who's riders scored 7th and 8th overall for the weekend with Dylan Ferrandis scoring a 7-7 result and Valentin Teillet getting and 8-8 result.

It was also a good ride from British and Raptor Titanium sponsored rider Elliot Banks-Browne of HM Plant KTM UK who took a 13-18 result on the day to take a solid result.

MX1

Antonio Cairoli continued his utterly devastating run of form on the super-smooth Matterley Basin track comfortably taking a 1-1 result to almost certainly cement the 2012 World MX1 title for his 6th title and took his 51st overall GP win. Fellow Factory KTM Red Bull man Max Nagl has returned from career-threatening injury to go 2-2 on the day and helps extend Cairoli's championship lead.

Raptor Titanium sponsored Factory Kawasaki Racing Team rider Gautier Paulin took overall 3rd with a 3-4 to return to good form after a disappointing few GP's for him in his first year in the MX1 class. His team-mate and fellow Raptor Titanium sponsored rider Xavier Boog took 5-7 on the day to go 5th overall with a solid performance.

Home-crowd favourite and Raptor Titanium's Shaun Simpson put in a fantastic performance to go 10-13 for the day on his Bike It Cosworth Monster Energy Yamaha.

HM Plant KTM UK's Kevin Strijbos on Raptor Titanium footpegs put in a characteristically consistent performance to take overall 8th with a 7-12 result for the day, maintaining 6th in the points standings just ahead of fellow Raptor Titanium sponsored rider Xavier Boog on the KRT machine.
