Tony Cairoli was crowned the 2013 MX1 World Champion at the weekend at the GP of Matterley Basin, winning the first race in style ahead of main championship rival Clement Desalle who was second. Cairoli had a bike problem in the second race and scored a DNF which meant Desalle took the overall win, his second in a row for the Factory Rockstar Suzuki team after a 1-1 result in MX1 at the GP of Belgium the previous weekend.
Raptor Titanium sponsored rider Jeremy Van Horebeek of the Factory Kawasaki Racing Team was second in the qualifying race but missed out on a race day medal with a crash in race one that put him right at the back with no hope of clawing back the deficit and ruining his chances of a podium even though he took a brilliant second in race two. His speed has improved tremendously over the course of 2013 and it is great to have him on Raptor Titanium footpegs. Van Horebeek's team-mate Gautier Paulin is still recovering from injury he sustained in Germany and so managed an excellent sixth overall at Matterley Basin as he now looks to prepare for 2014 after the GP of the Netherlands at Lierop in two weeks time.

MX2
Raptor Titanium sponsored rider Dean Ferris has certainly clicked in the last two rounds, with a 1-1 result at Bastogne at the GP of Belgium last weekend and a victory in the first race at the British GP he is firing on all cylinders, he was unlucky not to take an overall podium at Matterley as a crash in race two prevented him from continuing his race win streak.
Glen Coldenhoff of the Raptor Titanium sponsored Standing Construct KTM team took the overall victory in MX2 at the GP of Great Britain, his 3-4 result being good enough with Charlier winning the second race, and Ferris's crash making the points fall for him.
The series heads back to the continent for the final GP of the 2013 season to the impregnable sand-fortress of Lierop, see you there!
