Barcia unstoppable as takes four out of four races and maximum points in the 2012 250 SX East Lites Class

250 East Lites Class Main Event

It was all about Geico Honda and Raptor Titanium's 2011 250 Lites East Supercross Champion Justin Barcia, current leader of the 2012 series, who took yet another holeshot in the Daytona Lites Class Main Event. Speaking after of the conditions, Barcia described it as 'brutal', and he wasn't wrong as the rain poured down on the Florida track. Because of this, it wasn't as plain sailing as he's been accustomed to of late, and Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Blake Baggett pushed him right up to the finish line as Barcia fought with the bike and muddy conditions to stay ahead.

With Justin Barcia out front, and Blake Baggett four seconds behind in second place, the battle for third was just as intense as Raptor Titanium and KTM Red Bull USA's Ken Roczen tried to seize the initiative, moving into third position early in the race, utilizing the skills that rocketed him to being the youngest MX2 World Champion in history last season, but it wasn't enough as the young champion was passed on lap nine by Pro Circuit Kawasaki's Darryn Durham. Raptor Titanium and Rockstar Energy Suzuki's Blake Wharton stayed with Roczen throughout the race, and made him work for his fourth place.

Barcia's team mate and Raptor Titanium rider Justin Bogle had a torrid time of it out there as his bike became lodged in the mud after he came off on lap six, and was unable to pull it out, eventually finishing 18th.

Motoconcepts and Raptor Titanium sponsored rider Jake Canada put in another solid performance, finishing sixth place ahead of fellow Raptor Titanium rider Kyle Cunningham, also grabbing that sixth position in the points race.

Supercross Main Event

It was all about the JGR Yamaha team on Saturday night in the Supercross Main Event as Davi Millsaps took the holeshot at Daytona, with his team-mate and championship threat James Stewart in close second. With Raptor Titanium and KTM Red Bull USA's Ryan Dungey sidelined Saturday night with collarbone surgery and the defending champion Ryan Villopoto struggling in the muddy conditions, the Yamaha team dominated the race.

By lap three James Stewart had moved into the lead and it was a reasonably comfortable victory for him from then on. It was great to see crowd favourite Geico Honda and Raptor Titanium sponsored superstar Kevin Windham having the race of his season so far in third place, and Raptor Titanium and KTM Red Bull USA's Marvin Musquin having an incredible ride in fourth place, his second race ever in the Supercross Class. Raptor Titanium and Motoconcept's Mike Alessi also put in an excellent performance coming in sixth place.
